London TV Screenings 2026: premium content, creativity, collaboration

London TV Screenings 2026 has today another very active journey, with 8 presentations. The main ones are WBD in the morning, All3Media at midday and Sony in the afternoon. Yesterday, ITV, Banijay, Lionstate and Fox, and before BBC, NBCUniversal, Paramount, among others, have shown the road to follow: just premium content, the market is not for medium bets these days; creativity, based on Youtube and the creators economy, to be fresh, different, but above all for the new times; and collaborations, to make touchable projects, market initiatives, synergies cross media, that for each player separately are now unthinkable.

Other tips of this edition of the London TV Screenings? There is very good participation of buyers, about 1200 acquisitions and programming executives are attending the different presentations. About 750 attended ITV, there were 400 buyers at Lionsgate, and 250 enjoyed the FOX glamourous cocktail at The National Gallery (see the articles apart). Comparing to last year, the buyer attendance is still more from Europe, with UK, France, Germany, Italia, Spain as the main countries. In 2025, Prensario saw a bit more more buyers from Asia, MENA. And this year the predominance of broadcasters is particularly notorious, when in previous editions there were more different types of OTTs.

What does this mean? The sure thing is that traditional TV industry wants to compete and evolve to continue leading entertainment consumption. They need of course, help from the big content providers. Trendy opinions? Mike Beale, head of formats, ITV (UK): ‘Especially in unscripted but also in fiction, you have to launch very strong contents to make a difference. To evolve, you must include Digital First experiences, YouTube creators, new origins. And the partners are as important as customers for the success of a content. From our new slate, I stress ‘The Neighborhood’ and ‘Apocalypse’, two high-end budget surpassing realities. The first one twists the real life, the 2nd one reproduces to survive a real apocalypse environment’.

Fabrizio Battocchio, head of original productions, Mediaset Italy: ‘Here in London I am looking for a big-big entertainment format, to generate strong impact. Something just for the prime time of free TV, while many suppliers make too much focus on digital’. George Levendis, general manager Antenna Group, Greece: ‘I’d like to find the next big hit in entertainment, a strong and fresh idea. But we are also looking for fiction projects, to adapt locally’. Peter Kolosi, CCO RTL Hungary: ‘We are here above all to check the new trends, how to integrate the free TV basics with YouTube, Social Media, microdramas. Due to the general funding problems for big TV projects, the branded content side is a hot issue nowadays’.
