Created by Lucas Paraizo, author of Bajo Presión, and directed by Luisa Lima, the Globoplay Original Intolerantes, arrives in Europe and is shown for the first time on the market at Content Budapest. The new series of the Brazilian company is part of the showcase that will be presented in the event.

After being presented by Globo to the international market during LA Screenings Independents past May, and premiering in Brazil, the series is officially shown in the European market, together with the soap opera Solo Confia. Intolerantes addresses the problem of intolerance and the difficulty of dialogue in today’s society.
‘I really wanted to talk about intolerance, and the artifice I found was to show the inherent relationship between neighbours, strangers living side by side. In the plot, they are an allegorical way of referring to living in society. In a condominium there is a mixture of characters: in the same space people of different social classes, ages and genders interact’, stated Paraizo.
This desire found an echo in the vision of the world and the work of Lima, the director, with whom Paraizo has already worked on productions such as La Fiesta and Justicia. ‘In Intolerantes, we analyze our social formation and its implications for contemporary life through a story that seeks to expose human relationships without judgment. It talks about our defects, difficulties and limitations, and, at the same time, values the affection in middle-class characters immersed in violent acts’, defined Lima.

‘In addition to Intolerants, Lucas is also responsible for Bajo Presión, an internationally successful production, licensed in more than 60 countries. Human and real dramas like these are capable of captivating the public, by generating identification with the characters and situations portrayed. This demonstrates the variety of our portfolio, which, in addition to soap operas, also includes series capable of breaking borders’, commented Guilherme Jordão, Content Distribution and Partnerships at Globo.
