Okast launches Europa Specials at MIPCOM 2026, a new free, ad-supported streaming platform dedicated to European stories and cultures. The service debuts with more than 2,000 hours of programming and 50 FAST channels, bringing together documentaries, fiction, short films and thematic channels from across Europe while combining editorial curation with technology to improve content discovery.

The platform is being developed alongside a growing network of producers, distributors and publishers including Euronews, France Médias Monde, WeShort, C Major Entertainment, Love TV Channels, TV Poland, Insight TV, A Contracorriente Films, 601 Producciones Audiovisuales, Memocar, Dance TV and World of Freesports. Europa Specials also introduces its ‘Corners’, dedicated spaces allowing partners to retain their own identity, editorial selection and content universe within the service.
At the center of the project is an editorial approach that OKAST defines as ‘Deep Culture’, designed to encourage audiences to discover European works beyond traditional categories such as genre or country of origin. The platform aims to connect programmes through the stories, people, places and ideas they explore, using audiovisual content as a gateway to better understand the cultures and societies from which it originates.
To support this discovery experience, OKAST uses Curiosa, its artificial intelligence technology for content analysis. The system identifies themes, people, locations and concepts within programmes and establishes connections between them, while editorial teams remain responsible for the selection of works and the creation of the platform’s different content universes.
Europa Specials also combines its free advertising-supported model with new forms of commerce connected to content. Selected programmes can be associated with culturally relevant products, services and experiences such as books, music, exhibitions, travel destinations and craftsmanship, opening additional monetization opportunities for rights holders and partners.
Available on Web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV and Fire TV, with Samsung Smart TV distribution planned by the end of 2026, Europa Specials offers its discovery experience in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Designed and operated by OKAST in Europe, the platform forms part of the company’s broader strategy around European content distribution, discoverability and monetization through initiatives including ASAP4EU and FAST4EU.
