Globo presented its “premium content, global impact” showcase in Lisbon, a celebration of Brazilian stories with international ambition, combining creative excellence, major productions and a strong cultural identity. The company aims to strengthen its position as one of Latin America’s leading content producers, with a strategy focused on global expansion and new business opportunities.
“Lisbon holds special significance for us due to our historical and cultural connection with Portugal,” said Angela Colla, Head of International Business at Globo International Distribution. The executive highlighted the company’s more than 100-year history and 50 years of bringing its stories to the world, emphasising its ability to transform local realities into universal narratives.
For his part, Rodrigo Nascimento, head of business development and sales for EMEA, highlighted Globo’s industrial scale, with studios in Rio de Janeiro — the largest studio complex in Latin America — and its hub in Lisbon focused on the European market. “We want to build long-term partnerships,” he said.
The event highlighted the power of telenovelas as the group’s global driving force, featuring titles such as Anything Goes – a hit with audiences and on social media – Three Graces, which is still airing and performing strongly in Brazil and Portugal, and The Best Side of Life, presented for the first time at an international market.
Globoplay titles such as Blood Red, Emergency 53 and new vertical series were also presented, alongside co-productions and exported formats such as El Clon, Señora del Destino and The Others, which have been adapted in various countries.
The showcase concluded with the participation of SIC Portugal and the cast of Chapters of Life at a cocktail reception that reinforced the company’s spirit of international collaboration.
