During Content Europe Lisbon 2026, the team from SIC Portugal highlighted the value of the industry coming together in the Portuguese capital, against a backdrop marked by the absence of MIP TV.
“It’s a great opportunity to welcome everyone to a city that combines climate, gastronomy and content,” said Carlota Vieira in an interview with Prensario.
The channel arrived at the event with major new developments in drama. Firstly, the recent launch of its new telenovela, an adaptation of a TV Globo format based on the work of the renowned author Manuel Carlos, who passed away this year. Chapters of Life, which premiered on 23 February, combines a solid script, high technical standards and an identity defined by universal values such as love. The reception has been positive: the audience is tuning in and the viewing figures are bolstering the project.
At the same time, SIC is also airing Vitoria, a local version of the Turkish series Gülperi. Scheduled in consecutive prime-time slots, both dramas are performing well and are already attracting international interest.
The distributor is working on initial sales, whilst other productions from the group continue to expand: Broken Promise is already being broadcast in Hungary and Israel, and will soon arrive in Canada. The export momentum remains strong.
