EndemolShine Fiction and Black Sheep Films announced the renewal of their exclusive co-development and co-production partnership covering all of the latter’s film slate.

Founded in 2016 by Augustin Bernard and Mathieu Van de Velde, Black Sheep Films produces scripted series for broadcasters and streaming platforms in France and worldwide. Most recently the business produced Patricia Moore (9×12’) for digital platform, Blackpills, which was recognized at the Series Mania International Festival. The organisation also adapted and produced Mental seasons 1 and 2 for France.tv/slash, with the series winning the coveted Best 26’ Series Prize at La Rochelle’s Festival of TV Fiction, alongside a strong following and critical acclaim.

The company continues to grow through a diverse pipeline, driving both formats in France and across the world. Via the strategic partnership, EndemolShine Fiction also has the opportunity to strengthen its local and global presence in a very competitive landscape.

Dominique Farrugia, head Endemol Shine France, commented: ‘Renewing this partnership brings so much opportunity for both parties and allows us to support Augustin and Mathieu in their French and international growth. Together we are positive in our ambitions in bringing further originals and high-end scripted series to the fore’.

Bernard added: ‘We are very grateful for the freedom and trust that Dominique Farrugia, François de Brugada and all of Banijay’s teams are placing in us. It is the perfect mix of the agility of an independent structure and the strength of an international group. We share the common goal of growing and becoming an unmissable creative player in the TV industry and are very happy to pursue this alliance’.

Van de Velde concluded:‘We have the incredible luck of continuing our relationship with Dominique and François, whose ambitions and strategy are aligned with ours. The partnership mirrors what we do creatively: create strong local original series that tap into global audiences’.
