iQiyi expands across SEA with six new productions

iQiyi International starred in a showcase where it released six new Southeast Asian original series. The conference was part of ATF 2021, where it featured five shows from Malaysia and the first original from Thai.

The company’s first Thai production KinnPorsche, revolves around the heir to and his bodyguard of a powerful mobster family. The title is directed by Kongkiat Komesiri.While the Malaysian originals are co-productions with major Malaysian production companies: Rampas Cintaku(Longhouse Films), Rampas Cintaku (MIG Production), Sori Naik Lori (Tsar Asia), Love You Later (Juita Viden) and Restu (Infinitus Entertainment).

iQiyi also reported that they are working with the Philippine network ABS-CBN to produce two original series for a global audience: the romantic drama Saying Goodbye, starring Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin, and Hello, Heart, starring Gigi De Lana and Gerald Anderson.
They also highlighted that their first Korean production, My Roommate Is A Gumiho, was the most popular original title of the year on the service, captaining more than 100 million views worldwide. It highlighted that the audience for its Chinese content was four times higher in 2021 in terms of watch time globally, compared to last year.
