VS Next: current trends and predictions for the global content business

Offering points of view abot the nowadays production landscape and with a great focus on the content global distribution, Kids & Teens programming and female talent, LA Virtual Screenings initiates this week announcing the following outstanding panels and sessions that will be available on VS Next.

On Monday 17, Guillermo Pendino, VP Brand Head South Cone, ViacomCBS (Argentina), Susana Umbert, Entertainment Production Manager at Latina (Peru) and Patricia Daujotas, Content Director at Canal 10 (Uruguay), will lead a panel moderated by Michelle Wasserman, SVP Latin America USH & Brazil at Banijay Rights, where they will talk about the adaptation of these companies in light of the global pandemic.

Meanwhile, Maria Lucia Hernandez, Head of Sales at RCN (Colombia), Mario Castro, Sales Director Asia and Africa at Televisa International (Mexico), and Angela Colla, Head of Sales at Globo, will talk with Nicolas Smirnoff, Managing Director of Prensario International about the role of drama in the region and the distribution processes that has evolved into a more challenging business, with newcomers bringing top producers to the market.

Scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, Richard Middleton, Editor of TBI, will speak with Jorge Balleste, VP of Content Partnerships and Acquisitions at Univision, Guillermo Sierra, Head of Television and Digital Services at HITN, and Doris Vogelmann, VP of Programming and Operations at Vme Media on the incredible growth of the content market for the US Hispanic audience, which spends 113 hours a week using their devices, and is considering that they are responsible for more than half of the growth of the US population.

On the same day,Yago Fandiño, head of children’s content at Clan, RTVE (Spain), together with Genaro Díaz, Coordinator of Planning, Image and Advertising at Televisa (Mexico); and Cielo Salviolo, Director of PakaPaka (Argentina), talk with Paul Vaca, Executive Director at Ci Edutainment about the present and future of content for children.

Lastly, on Wednesday 19, Jack Davison, EVP 3Vision, will offer a vision of the future of content distribution on TV, using latest data, the exec will take a face-packed look at the significant developments to the distribution ecosystem and TV industry trends. And the Worldwide Audiovisual Women’s Association(WAWA) bring to LAVS an exclusive interview with Camilla Hammerich, Executive Producer, Nordisk Film Production and producer of noir dramas BorgenandThe Killing.
