VS Next: emerging companies and streamers go global

The seventh market day of LA Virtual Screenings had twonew companies and executives from the emerging MENA region being part of the “Testimonials of the Industry”.They offered details of their mission and their strategies in the local and international content market.

Fatma Mansi is the head of content acquisition at Watchit, one of the main OTT in Egypt, with content from the Arab market and exclusive sports such as the premier Egyptian league: ‘We recently opened to the international market by acquiring content from all over the world. One of our last deals was for content in Spanish and content for children from Turner’, she underlined.

Riad Ait Aoudia, CEO of MediaAlgeriA and co-founder of Yara, completed: ‘Yara is a new platform for the Algerian market, based on a subscription model. Our content is subtitled and is oriented to drama series and films. We are currently open to purchasing content to reinforce our offering’.
