MIPCOM & MIPJunior 2026

Mipcom 2026, wrap-up: better density of decision makers

Mipcom 2026 comes to an end today, with a good outcome: though there have been fewer attendees than last year, there was a very good density of decision makers, mainly buyers, programmers, CEOs. So, this is a better mix to make business move forward. At the wrap-up conference, Lucy Smith, Mipcom director at RX France, said that the event had this year 10.100 participants from 104 countries, including 3160 buyers. MIPJunior had 600 attendees including 165 kids & teens buyers. The Top 10 countries in attendance have been USA, UK, France, Germany, Turkey, Canada, Spain, Italia, Japan and India.

Mipcom 2026: fresh twists to improve the content market

MIPCOM 2026 develops today its third full day, after two journeys plenty of cocktails, conferences and events. Is this a good Mipcom? Tomorrow we’ll develop the outcome, after attending the wrap-up conference of RX FRANCE. As usual recently, attendees say there are less people traffic, and you see at the Palais many empty places that had booths in previous years. But business is up, there is good energy to surpass current crossroads. Beyond volumes, all or most of the important players are in Cannes taking decisions.

Mipcom 2026: a dance in the (cloudy) sky

Mipcom 2026 moves forward with very good energy facing an expanding digital future, but main news from the industry don’t help to feel better: apart from the acquisition announcement of Skydance Group to Warner Bros Discovery, The Wit at its crowded “Fresh TV” conference revealed yesterday a 62% drop in new format creation since 2013-2014 peak. Also, many European broadcasters keep the volume of production hours, but reducing costs to a small percent, due to very low-cost live programming.

From MIPJunior to Mipcom 2026: new times, old problems

Mipcom 2026, the main event of the content calendar worldwide, starts today in Cannes, France, with important challenges ahead: to move forward on the digital era, particularly on social media, the Creators Economy and microdramas, surpassing income and financing problems that are critical both in traditional and new businesses. This weekend, where the focus was on MIPJunior for kids and teens, the message was direct: suppliers must accompany the evolution of young audiences, generating proactive stories and environments as the ones led by games and social platforms. The ‘passive’ contents don’t run any more.

MIPJunior 2026: navigating the next generation of kids content

MIPJUNIOR 2026 officially kicked off yesterday, October 10, bringing international buyers, producers, and broadcasters to the Palais des Festivals. The market’s opening day offered a stark, analytical look at the rapid evolution of youth viewership, balancing the creative ambitions of new IP premieres with sobering data on financing, streaming cutbacks, and the dominance of video games among Generation Alpha.

MIPJunior 2026: focus on next-gen audiences

MIPJunior kicks off today, Saturday, and runs until tomorrow, October 11, officially paving the way for a new edition of MIPCOM Cannes. The event continues as the premier global accelerator for kids and family entertainment. This year, the market expects to welcome approximately 900 delegates from over 60 countries, setting a robust strategic stage for the broader RX market, which projects an attendance of over 10,600 delegates. The 2026 agenda focuses sharply on the evolving business of young audiences, addressing the monumental shift from legacy media to digital-first brands.
